The Pitt in Black and White part 2
This is an alternative landscape of The Pitt, however, it is the world drained of colour. I had feared that a world without colour would be dull and boring, until I began drawing it. By exploring this fear the exploration of detail became much more important in the series. Fairies in the disguise of a devil and angel appear in the bottom right corner. The wind creatures dominate the landscape as does the checked pass that leads to and from nowhere. Characters that can only exist in black and white emerge as central features. This piece was the beginning of a series that eventually developed into a sketch book completely in black and white.
