The Red Door
Obsessions are very important for artists. Doorways became my obsession. A place in-between two places. How do you get from the material world into the world of your creation? Where does the physical world end and the imaginative world begin? Doorways symbolize this liminal area. The use of black space in this photo suggests a lack of orientation. It is impossible to know where you are and also where you are going. All that is clear in the doorway between the two spaces. Much of my photography tries to capture the beginning of a story. The ambiguity of beginnings is something that fascinates me. Every place needs a doorway. Every place needs an in and out. This is a photograph was taken on a digital camera.
